Area around Balgair Castle Park

Situated on on the banks of the River Endrick, outside the village of Fintry, Balgair Castle Park offers many intersting local activities from local cycle hire to fly fishing at excellent fishery at North Third Reservoir near Stirling.

Why not wander along to Loch Lomond or the Trossachs. Probably the most famous body of water in the world and certainly one of the most beautiful, Loch Lomond is where highlands meet lowlands and the contrast is most dramatic. With Ben Lomond towering over the northern-most stretch of the loch, there are numerous opportunities for water sports and picnicking. Cycling is a great way to drink in the scenery especially along the Campsie Trail which is also ideal for walking.

For golfing enthusiasts take a short drive to Campsie Golf Club in Lennoxtown or King's Park in Stirling. The championship course at Gleneagles welcomes visitors too. Fintry has its own indoor sports complex for bowling and squash. Or try the outdoor bowling green on idyllic summer nights.
